Abstract
Današnje društvo, društvo je spektakla. Možemo reći da živimo u stoljeću medijske inovacije zajedno sa razvojem celebrity kulture. Vijesti o slavnima su posvuda, pojavljuju se u svim vrstama komunikacijskih medija, od tiskanih medija kao što su novine i časopisi do televizije i online medija. Povijesne studije o poznatima tvrde da unatoč tome što ovaj fenomen ima dugu povijest, postao je transformiran kroz tehnološke inovacije kao što su kino, tisak i televizija. Te su tehnologije poznate osobe pretvorile u objekt masovne potrošnje. Tipične „zvijezde“ tridesetih ili pedesetih godina prošlog stoljeća bile su filmske „zvijezde“ ili sportaši. Današnjim slavnim osobama često nedostaje postignuće i proizvod su reality televizije, a nije rijedak slučaj da takve slavne osobe nestaju istom brzinom kojom su i nastale. Stoga će se ovaj rad baviti sve raširenijim fenomenom u današnjem društvu spektakla – celebrity kulturom, a cilj je prikazati njezin razvoj, odrednice i utjecaj koji ima u različitim područjima suvremenoga društva – politici, sportu, religiji i kulturi.
Abstract (english)
Today's society is spectacle society. We can say that we live in the century of media innovation along with the development of celebrity culture. Celebrity news are everywhere, appearing in all types of communication media, from print media such as newspapers and magazines to television and online media. Historical studies on famous people claim that despite the fact that this phenomenon has a long history, it has become transformed through technological innovations such as cinema, press and television. These technologies have turned famous people into a facility of mass consumption. Typical "stars" of the thirties or fifties of the last century were film stars or athletes. Today's celebrities are often lacking in achievement and they are the product of reality television, and it is not uncommon for such celebrities to disappear at the same speed they have been appear. Hence, this paper will deal with an increasingly widespread phenomenon in today's spectacle society – celebrity culture, the aim of which is to present its development, determinants and influence in different areas of modern society – politics, sport, religion and culture.
