No, arhivi, knjižnice i muzeji ostat će glavni izvori znanja i inovacija.
Uz strane projekte suradnje, poput MALVINE-a, LAURIN-a i LEAF-a, poznat je i hrvatski projekt Arhivi, knjižnice, muzeji: mogućnosti suradnje u okruženju globalne informacijske infrastrukture.
Abstract (english) | Archives, libraries and museums are heritage institutions that collect, process, store and provide a variety of materials for use. They often have a different purpose and are usually institutionally separated but essentially have similar goals. Their most important goal is to promote knowledge, which, in modern society, requires new tools. But archives, libraries and museums will remain the main sources of knowledge and innovation. With the introduction of digital processing, the importance of physical collections in educational institutions is gradually diminishing, but the number of users of these institutions increases. In the digital age, it is important to bring the archives, libraries and museums closer together and persist in creating a common work model and common resources. In the past, their collaboration was difficult to achieve. Today, joint work is no longer a novelty, but becomes a necessity and a prerequisite for quality work and also brings financial benefits. It strives for a parallel search of material, which was not feasible in the past. With the emergence and development of new technologies, there is a need for a similar type of professional education. The present and future roles of librarians, archivists and museologists have become popular topics of expert discussions, both in the world and in Croatia.
One of the main trends of institutional cooperation is the creation of a digital collection. Libraries, archives and museums in many countries work on joint digitalization projects and joint web sites. Also, there are numerous collaborative organizations, such as the American Institute for Museum and Library Services, the US Library Association, the Archives, Library and Museum Commissions, etc. In addition to collaborative projects such as MALVINE, LAURIN and LEAF, there is the Croatian project Archives, libraries, museums: possibilities for cooperation in the global information infrastructure environment.
Also, in the city of Osijek, the heritage institutions embraced this mode of operation and provided several successful projects. One of them is a project titled Secession of the Free and Royal City of Osijek, and the project Hidden Treasure of European Nobility is being prepared. The aim of this paper is to present the features of heritage institutions (archives, libraries and museums) in the digital age, with emphasis on inter-institutional cooperation and management of cooperation projects in the world and in Croatia. |
