The books Escape from freedom, Healthy society and To have or to be by the psychoanalyst Erich Fromm are topically tied to the term of human alienation since the begginings of humanity. Fromm explains what alienation is in his book Healthy society and brings the question of alienation closer to the reader. Since the arrival of capitalism until the 21st century mankind has been exposed to alienation increasingly without even noticing it. Even though mankind has been struggling for freedom since the cavemen times, he loses it with modernisation and development. In the book Escape from freedom, Fromm dwelves deeper into the topic of freedom and divides it into two separate terms. In reference to Fromm, today’s most popular social network Facebook is connected to the alienation of mankind in the 21st century. Pokemon Go, a game that has captivated the entire world stands toe to toe with Facebook, and serves as a example how man is exposed to the influence of technology and how dangerous that is not only for the individual, but the humanity itself. 21st century mankind develops technology with the aim of it serving the man, but the technology is the one that is slowly beginning to rule over humankind and alienates the Man from both himself and the society.
