Abstract
Osnovni cilj ovoga rada bio je prikazati odnos dviju vodećih svjetskih religija i civilizacija te uzroke višestoljetnih sukoba koji su vidljivi i u današnjici. Sukob islama i Zapada proistječe iz prirode tih dviju vjera i civilizacija koje se na njima temelje, odnosno, iz njihovih sličnosti i razlika. Ti međusobni sukobi i previranja koji su vjerskog, kulturnog, gospodarskog, ekonomskog i političkog karaktera traju stoljećima, a rezultat su međusobnih nesporazuma i suprotstavljenih ekonomskih i političkih interesa.
Abstract (english)
The main objective of this study was to show the relationship of the two major world religions and civilizations, and the causes of their conflicts that are visible in the present. The conflict between Islam and the West stems from the nature of the two religions and civilizations based on them, respectively, and from their similarities and differences. These conflicts and turmoil that have religious, cultural, economic and political character last for centuries, and are the result of mutual misunderstanding and conflicting economic and political interests.
