Abstract
Balkan je svijetu vjerojatno poznatiji po sinonimu ’bure baruta’ nego po svojemu stvarnom imenu. Geografski je smješten u Europi, no i izmješten iz nje, što potvrđuje i činjenica da je regija s najvećim brojem država koje još nisu članice Europske Unije. Ovaj rad proučava stereotipe u kontekstu književnosti kako bismo saznali kakvo mišljenje drugi imaju o Balkanu i kakvo mišljenje tzv. „balkanski narodi“ gaje o sebi samima. Imagološka analiza u ovom radu obuhvaća književne reprezentacije Balkana na primjerima izabranih djela: Drakula Brama Stokera, Na Drini ćuprija Ive Andrića, Kako upokojiti vampira Borislava Pekića, Posle devedeset godina Milovana Glišića, Vampir Borisa Perića i Legioni svetog Adofonisa Slavka Janevskog.
Abstract (english)
The Balkans is probably more recognizable by its synonym of a ’powder keg’ then by its real name. Geographically it is located in Europe, but it is displaced within it, which is confirmed by the fact that it is a region with the largest number of countries that are not yet the members of the European Union. This paper examines the stereotypes in the context of literature aiming to find out what the others think about the Balkans and what the Balkanians think about themselves. The analysis is based on my own views and understandings while reading following pieces: Dracula, The Bridge on the Drina, How to Quite a Vampire, After Ninety Years, Vampire and The Legions of St. Adonis.
