Abstract
Ovaj rad analizira vjerovanja najvećih svjetskih religija (hinduizma, budizma, židovstva, kršćanstva i islama) o životu poslije smrti. Započelo se uvodom o fenomenu smrti te kako su ljudi kroz različita vremena percipirali smrt. Zatim su predstavljene svjetske religije i njihova najopćenitija vjerovanja, nakon toga slijedi glavni dio o eshatologiji tih religija i naposljetku o njihovim običajima pokapanja mrtvaca. Smrt zbog mnogih nerazjašnjenih pitanja koje povlači za sobom predstavlja svojevrsnu enigmu. A život poslije smrti je zbog nemogućnosti postizanja empirijskih dokaza vrlo spekulativan. Zbog čega ima nekoliko sličnosti u interpretaciji života poslije smrti i pokapanja mrtvaca. Sve religije uče da postoji nekakav oblik nagrade ili kazne poslije smrti; a kada se govori o obredima pokapanja mrtvaca dolazimo do spoznaje da se fizičkim postpucima čišćenja tijela, molitvama za pokojnika te posjećivanje grobova zapravo simbolično pokušava očistiti osoba kako bi se smanjile kazne u zagrobnom životu.
Abstract (english)
This thesis analyzes most common world wide religions (hinduism, buddhism, judaism, christianity and islam) about life after death. It started with introduction of phenomenon of death and how did people through out ages perceived death. Then it is presented world wide religions and their most common beliefs, afterwards comes main part about eschatology of those religions and ultimately about mores of burials of dead men. Death is often presented as enigma because of many unresolved questions that brings with it. Life after death is speculative because of it's impossibility of reaching emipirical evidence. Which is way it has few similarity in interpretation life after death and burials of dead men. Every religion teaches that there is some sort of reward or punishment after death; and when it comes to burials, we come to the knowledge that with physical procedures cleaning the body, prayers for dead men and visitation the graveyards it is actually simbolic atempt to clean the person so it would have reduced sentence in afterlife.
